Legal Fellowship

The American Civil Liberties Union of Washington Foundation (ACLU-WA) seeks qualified 3rd year law school students and recent law school graduates to sponsor for 2009 Skadden, Equal Justice Works or other public interest fellowships.

The ACLU-WA is the state arm of the American Civil Liberties Union, the premier nationwide organization working daily in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution and laws. The ACLU-WA welcomes project proposals consistent with this organizational mission.

ACLU-WA staff will work with selected applicants to tailor their projects to the legal needs of Washington’s diverse communities and to make efficient use of available resources and expertise. Successful applicants will participate in impact litigation and strategy, community advocacy, and public education efforts relevant to the proposed project. The fellow will be headquartered in our Seattle office and supervised by a team of staff attorneys. Applicants must possess superior legal writing and research skills and a demonstrated commitment to public service. Applicants must meet the criteria of the funding fellowship.
