ACLU of Washington Outreach Volunteer Trainings

Date:
Wednesday, August 30, 2017 - 5:30pm to Thursday, August 31, 2017 - 1:15pm
Location:
ACLU of Washington, Seattle
The ACLU of Washington is now recruiting Outreach Volunteers to assist us with public education in the greater King County area. The ACLU regularly has information tables at events, sharing materials about our work to defend and extend people’s civil liberties and civil rights. This public education is essential to informing our supporters and the public; mobilizing people to send letters, make calls to government officials, and take to the streets for rallies and marches; and notifying our communities of important issues that impact them. We need the help of Outreach Volunteers to make this happen.

Attendees of these trainings will receive the skills and resources necessary to represent the ACLU in public. If you are interested in supporting our work through public education, please join us for a training session.

This training also provides an excellent opportunity for People Power activists to hear more about the breadth of the ACLU’s work, learn how to communicate that information to the public, and understand how to be a strong advocate and ally in defending civil liberties. If you are a People Power activist interested in or planning to table at events in your community, we strongly encourage you to participate in one of these trainings.
