Flights and Rights-COVID-19 and Race (Virtual)

Date:
Thursday, May 28, 2020 - 5:00pm to 6:30pm
Location:
Online
Flights & Rights is our regularly scheduled community series featuring important civil rights issues and great beer in the KEXP Studios Gathering Space. This month, we build community virtually, so grab your beverage of choice and meet us online or via phone.

Join our Executive Director Michele Storms, Crystal Pardue (ACLU-WA Equal Justice Works Fellow), Ebony Miranda (Black Lives Matter), Michael Byun (Asian Counseling and Referral Service) and Gabriel Munoz (Latino Civic Alliance) who will examine the devastating impact of coronavirus disease on people of color. The virus is taking Black lives, Latinx lives, and Native lives in disproportionate numbers – not for any biological reason, but because of the institutional racism and systems of oppression the ACLU works to dismantle.

Tune in after the discussion for a specially curated playlist from OCNotes, host of KEXP’s Sunday Soul – your soundtrack for making dinner, dancing at home, creating close community despite the distance. Listen here on Spotify: https://bit.ly/kexp528

Registration required.
