The ACLU of Washington is a non-profit public interest organization devoted to protecting civil rights and civil liberties. Its staff and numerous volunteers work in a fast-paced, friendly and professional office. The Policy Advocacy Assistant is part of the Policy Advocacy Group which includes legislative, field and policy staff. The Assistant primarily supports the Deputy Director, Field Director, and Legislative Director. The Deputy Director leads the policy advocacy work and coordinates multi-disciplinary, high impact campaigns that involve legal, legislative, education and community mobilization programs. The Field Director reaches out to supporters and to other organizations to identify commonalities and to elicit their support.  The Legislative Director works with legislators, their staff, and allies to advance or oppose various pieces of legislation.
